The Academy of Strings believes that “with the right environment and the right works, every child can!” Rooted in the Suzuki Method of Talent Education, our program fosters not only musical growth but also discipline, focus, and skills that extend into all areas of learning. Under the expert leadership of violinists and master teachers Tim and Kim Barrett, the Academy has enjoyed over 30 years of success, nurturing students ages 4 to 18. With a commitment to creating a supportive, family-friendly atmosphere, we ensure that each child has the opportunity to develop their full potential, cultivating a lifelong love of music and learning.
THE SUZUKI METHOD
We at Academy of Strings believe wholeheartedly in the Suzuki Method and use its truths and principles as the core of our musical curriculum and method.
Young violinists learn the advantages of unity and working together as a team to accomplish a common goal.
ACADEMY OF STRINGS LESSONS
Instruction consists of weekly individual and group lessons as well as concerts each semester. The student and parent both attend lessons every week.
INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
In individual lessons teachers focus on personalized instruction for the needs of each student.
GROUP LESSONS
Concerts are performed several times a semester. Students are given the opportunity to share their music in a variety of venues.
PUBLIC PERFORMANCES
Group lessons reinforce music skills and techniques with fun and engaging interaction with peers.
